Rotary Club of Khadki, Pune has adopted an underdeveloped village ‘Kashig’ in Pune district and desires to transform the same into a model village thereby uplifting the standards of health, hygiene, sanitation and education in phases over a period of time. Kashig Village is located 16 kms from Paud in Mulshi Taluka of Pune district. It is a remote and underdeveloped village with hilly terrain and is still struggling to meet its basic needs like sanitation, filtered drinking water, metalled roads. It has been our dream & constant endeavor for the past few years to transform ‘Kashig’ into a model village. In the first phase we have transformed the Kashig into a ‘Nirmal Gram’ by constructing 76 individual ferro-concrete toilets for the villagers. Out of the 76 toilets, 33 have been installed in the current Rotary year. In addition we have provided modern sanitation and educational infrastructure related work for the secondary school along with computers, projectors with software under RDEP scheme and school dress for underprivileged student. In the second phase this year, we plan to renovate & augment the water supply to the village in the current year so that every household will have easy access to clean drinking water.
